Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“Is not My word like a fire?” says the Lord, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?” – Jer 23:29
God’s Word is powerful! It is a fire that ignites a passion for God and makes your heart burn to see His people healed, delivered and restored. It is a hammer to destroy doubt: a tool to bring the Truth to people who don’t know Jesus yet. It is a sword that is, “…living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit” (Heb 4:12). God’s word is powerful enough to overcome any obstacle you could ever face!
Apart from God’s word, your life will be full of discouragement and doubt; but with God’s Word, you can face anything that comes your way. Declare His word over your life, and watch your life transform!
Prayer:
Father, make me a lover of Your word. As I read my Bible, I pray you would ignite a fire in me like never before. Break every calcified doubt deposit in my spirit, and give me new life in Jesus’ name!
