Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall go into the ark—you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. – Gen 6:18

God’s covenant changes everything. Noah “walked with God” (v 9). He listened when God gave him a crazy plan to build an ark. Noah trusted God, and God trusted Noah. Noah was protected because he had a covenant relationship with God!

Even as the floodwaters rose around Noah, he was safe. Even as the wind and waves tossed the ark back and forth, Noah and his family did not have to fear! He had a covenant; and that was all he needed. Wouldn’t you love to be protected from the storms of life in exactly the same way?

When you say, “I believe Jesus is Lord,” you enter into covenant with God. No matter what happens outside – wind, waves and tempest – God will keep you safe and sound. Your covenant keeps you secure. Even if life is storming around you, you will be safe with God in Covenant!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your covenant. Thank You that because I am hidden in Jesus, I have nothing to fear. I trust you with my whole heart, because You love me with all of Yours.
