Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. – Titus 3:3
We must never forget where we came from. The reality of the past can be a fitting reminder of just how merciful God has been. You were once a lost and lonely sinner, but God called you home! Because of the Cross, He clothes you with a righteousness that washes away all sin.
Only you know the depth of your sin; and from that knowledge springs an eternal understanding of God’s infinite forgiveness! Refrain from judging others long enough to acknowledge that a sleight of hand, or a twist of fate, could have landed you in exactly their position. Praise God for His faithfulness in delivering you from all fear!
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your mercy! Thank You for Your grace! Thank You for Your infinite kindness towards me. I know just how committed You are to forgiveness, because I know just how lost I was before You found me. Thank You for finding me, in Jesus’ name!
