Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I sat in my house with the elders of Judah sitting before me, that the hand of the Lord God fell upon me there. – Ezek 8:1
God moves where He chooses! Ezekiel was not in church when the hand of the Lord fell. He was not studying Scripture when the Holy Spirit moved! He was sitting in his house. We do not have to be anywhere particularly anointed or special if we want the Lord to communicate to us. Our home can be just as anointed as our church (yet that certainly does not, by any means, negate the need for corporate worship).
God moves when He chooses. Ezekiel didn’t have to be alone to hear from God. He was in a room full of people when God chose to speak! God will speak to you in your prayer closet, separated from the world. He will also speak to you in a crowded room, full of people! He will get you the message, no matter what it takes.
God knows what He is doing! He will get you the message He needs you to hear, right on time!
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your goodness. I know You can speak to me anywhere You want, and however You want. I give You permission to consume all my attention, and reveal what You are trying to do, in Jesus’ name!
