Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; talk of all His wondrous works! – Ps. 105:1-2

Notice the rhythm in verses 1 and 2. Verse one beings with “Give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name.” In other words, praise Him! Cultivate a vibrant prayer life as you talk with God. Then, “Make known His deeds among the peoples.” Tell people about Him! We have a responsibility to share what God has done with people who haven’t yet heard. We have a healthy and holy burden to share the Gospel – the Cross of Jesus Christ – with people who haven’t yet called on His name!

Verse two follows the same pattern. “Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him.” Worship the Lord! Make sure to heave an intimate relationship with Him. Live a life that is saturated with worship. But then, “Talk of all His wondrous works!” Sing to Him! Then talk to other people. You have a responsibility to worship; and you also have a responsibility to talk to somebody else about Jesus.

You must go up! You must also go out. We must have a vibrant, prayerful relationship with God and a love for His word. But to keep that love to ourselves is robbery from a world that desperately needs His presence. Make His deeds known today. Talk of all His wondrous works! Speak of your love for Jesus loudly and boldly so that other people can hear the Message.

Prayer:

Lord, I love my time with You! I love to pray. I love to worship. I love our one-on-One times of intimacy more than anything else! But I also know that I need to tell other people about You. Give me courage to tell the world just how great You are, in Jesus’ name.
