Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
He also brought them out with silver and gold, and there was none feeble among His tribes. – Ps. 105:37
God didn’t just bring His people out of Egypt! He brought them out “with silver and gold.” He made sure He blessed their socks off as He brought them out of captivity and into the Promised Land! He made sure there was “none feeble among His tribes.” He made sure they were healed and whole; strong and never weak. Why? To show them His abundance, and to fulfill His covenant.
Remember Psalm 103? God promised His people there were “benefits” to a covenant relationship with Him:
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. – Ps. 103:2-5
God’s covenant with His people would not have been complete if He hadn’t healed their bodies! His covenant would not have been complete if He hadn’t satisfied their mouths with good things. And the best news? If God’s people were that blessed under the Old Covenant, imagine how blessed you are under the New!
I wonder today if you have allowed God to complete His covenant with you. Are there benefits to salvation that you’ve been living without? Have you asked God to bless you financially? Have you asked Him to make you strong instead of feeble? Ask, and He will do it. He will complete His covenant with you because you are His child.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” – Matt. 7:7-8
Prayer:
Father, thank You for blessing me with Your abundance! Thank You for completing Your covenant. Thank You for healing my body. Thank You for providing for my every financial need! I receive Your abundance over my life in Jesus’ mighty name.
