Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
From the rising of the sun to its going down the Lord’s name is to be praised. – Ps. 113:3
Praise is not meant to be a periodic activity. It is not a leisure activity in which you engage when you have spare time. Praise is a lifestyle. God is worthy to be praised! And when should we praise Him? “From the rising of the sun to its going down the Lord’s name is to be praised.” All day, every day!
If your definition of “praise” is the worship (i.e. music) set during Sunday service, your definition of “praise” needs to be changed. Praise is an attitude of the heart. You don’t need a “praise break” when things get tough; you need a lifetime of praise no matter how well or poorly things are going! Because praise is not about making you feel better; it is about giving God what He deserves.
Are you ready to spend every moment of your day today praising God?
Prayer:
Father, I pray that praise would erupt into my day today. Help me to be a continual praiser! I want to be an unconditional praiser by the power of Your Holy Spirit. You are worthy of praise! And I’m going to give it to You, in Jesus’ name.
