Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
But as for me, I will walk in my integrity; redeem me and be merciful to me. – Ps 26:11
David’s life was not easy. Yes, he was king; but wicked men were constantly out to get him. “Bloodthirsty men” (v 9) were always devising “sinister scheme[s]” (v 10) to trap him!
But David was not concerned with what other men did. He kept His eyes on God, and went about His business. David made a personal decision to walk in integrity. Other people could say what they needed to say about him. They could hate him as much as they wanted! But David’s mission was unaffected.
Integrity matters. Character counts! Don’t listen to what other people say. You live for an audience of One!
Prayer:
Father, I pray You would solidify and strengthen my integrity. No matter what happens in my life, help me to be a (wo)man of strong character, in Jesus’ name!
