Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And at the end of ten days their features appeared better and fatter in flesh than all the young men who ate the portion of the king’s delicacies. – Dan 1:15
God will use even the leanest provision to make you prosper. Daniel and his friends didn’t need the fine delicacies the enemy offered them; they only needed God’s hand on their lives. The more Daniel and his friends trusted in God, the more they became overwhelmed with favor.
God will take whatever you have – no matter how small or how lean – and cause you to prosper with it. Even if you have no education, God can make you wise. Even if you have no money, God can make you rich. Even though you’re down on your luck, God’s grace overrides the odds.
God will take the areas of your life where you are weak, and make you strong.
Prayer:
God, turn my leanness into fatness. I pray that Your Holy Spirit would take control over the areas of my life where I need help. You are the Redeemer and Restorer of all things, and I trust You to work the miraculous in my life!
