Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord. – Ps 27:6
David offered a present sacrifice for a future victory. He knew his head would be lifted up above his enemies in the future; so he offered sacrifices of joy here and now. Do you need victory? Praise God now! As you lift up the sacrifice of praise, He will activate the victory with your faith.
Faith means praising God in advance: before the victory takes place. We are not conditional praisers, who wait for the victory to unfold before praising God. We are those who praise Him in advance, because we know God’s word does not fail!
Prayer:
Father, help me to praise You in advance! I know my victory is secure in You. Your word never fails, so I can praise You now for my future victory!
