Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Unto You I lift up my eyes, O You who dwell in the heavens. – Ps 123:1
In baseball, coaches tell you never to take your eye off the ball. If you lose sight of the ball, you can swing as hard as you like; but you will always miss because you don’t have the right focus.
Our Christian walk is not so different. Look up! Never take your eyes off Jesus. All the hard work in the world is worth nothing if you don’t have the right focus. Keep your eyes on the Cross! Live for Jesus. Put Him first, and everything else will fall into place.
Prayer:
Father, help me to keep my eyes on the Cross! I know my first and only priority is to keep my eyes on You. Remind me to look up!
