Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome” (1 Jn 5:3). If you love God, keep His commandments. Yet keeping His commandments is not something that must be done because we have to; it is something that can be done because we get to. The evidence of a redeemed heart is restored life. God loved us first so that we could love Him. He sent Jesus to die for us so that we would be able to serve Him from a place of compassion. God’s commandments are not burdensome; they are life-giving!
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your instruction! Speak to me, and tell me the things You would have me do. I want to walk in Your will for my life!
