Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

“Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy” (Ps 126:5). Seed cannot produce a harvest unless it is first sown. Too often, we cling to the seed we have been given because we are afraid to let go of it. The result is destroyed potential. Sometimes, we eat seed that is meant for planting instead of sowing it into the ground. The result is still destroyed potential. Even when we feel like there is no point in sowing at all, we are called to be sowers. Even when we have tears streaming down our face and nothing is going our way, the Psalmist instructs us to sow. For when we sow, even through tears, we will reap in joy!

Prayer:

Father, remind me to never stop sowing. Even if I have to deposit my seed through a wall of tears, I don’t ever want to quench Your Holy Spirit by refusing to sow. Make me a faithful depositor of seed in Jesus’ Name!
