Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. – Joel 2:32
You are only one prayer away from salvation! Give your life to Jesus, and let Him wash away all your sins. Let Him restore the time the enemy has stolen, and let Him bless your life from top to bottom!
The Gospel is simple. Call on the name of the Lord, and you will be saved. Believe in Jesus, and you will have eternal life!
Churches love to try and add additional requirements to salvation. Give your life to Jesus and tithe, and you will be saved. Give your life to Jesus and serve, and you will be saved. Give your life to Jesus and be friendly, and you will be saved. But Scripture says salvation is simple! It is a gift – something that can never be bought or earned – only received:
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. – Eph 2:8-9
Father, thank You for the gift of salvation. Help me to remember that salvation is simple: Jesus purchased eternal life for me on the Cross, so I could receive it as a gift. Amen!
