Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth.” – Rev. 5:9-10

Would your life be different if you knew you were royalty? Would you waste less time on the mundane, and spend more time telling people about your kingdom and what your King is like? Because Scripture says that royalty is your reality and not just a fantasy when you give your life to Jesus Christ!

Look at the verses above. This is what Jesus has done for you! You are far from worthy; but He is perfectly worthy. He was slain, and He redeemed you to God by His blood. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’ve been or where you’re from: you are now part of the family of God. And not only are you family, you are royalty! You are a king and a priest in Heaven’s system of authority. You have power and you have an inheritance. You can hear God’s voice as a priest, and minister to Him in His presence! And knowing all that waits for you in Heaven, your job is to reign here on the earth.

You are a king and a priest. You have access to God and He has given you authority! Now go out and live like it, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for Your blood! Thank You for redeeming me to God. Thank You for making me a priest and a king before Him. From this day forward I will use my royal status to make a decree and tell everyone I can about Your kingdom, in Jesus’ name.
