Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised up his hand to heaven and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer… – Rev. 10:5-6
There is such a thing as the timing of God. In today’s verse, God had promised to move. And as soon as the angel, “…raised up his hand to heaven” (v 5) the promise started to unfold. God’s timing had played out! There would be no more delay.
There will be times God asks you to be patient. There will also be moments when He tells you to stand up and declare that the wait is over. If this angel hadn’t declared “that there should be delay no longer,” would there have been additional delay? If he hadn’t risen up and used the God-given authority that had been given to Him to prophetically decree an end to the waiting and a beginning to the fulfillment, would the status quo have ever changed?
Speak to your circumstance. Declare that there should be delay no longer! God has given you authority to rise up and declare that it is time for His promises to come to pass.
Prayer:
Father, there will be no more delay in my life! No more frustration. No more unfruitfulness. Help me to be patient! But help me also to be insistent when insistence is required, in Jesus’ name.
