Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.” – Rev. 12:12

Everything that happens in your life is not from God. Satan, “…who deceives the whole world,” (v 9) was cast down to the earth, and his goal is now to mess up your life. Scripture calls Satan the, “…prince of the power of the air” (Eph 2:2). Satan’s one and only goal in your life is to cause, “…great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time” (Rev. 12:12). He has come, “…to steal, and to kill, and to destroy” (Jn. 10:10a).

But Jesus has come that you may have life, “…and that [you] may have it more abundantly” (Jn. 10:10b)! You don’t have to fear Satan. Jesus already defeated Satan on the Cross! But you do have to be aware that Satan exists, so you don’t blame the bad things in your life on God. You do have to be aware that Satan exists, so you can constantly be on guard in prayer!

God is the author of life, and Satan is the author of death. God causes the good things in your life; and Satan causes the bad things. It’s just that simple. Please do not blame God for the work of Satan! Instead, contend for the good and perfect will of God to be made manifest in your life. Satan is the problem; but Jesus is the solution!

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. – Lk. 10:19

Prayer:

Father, thank You for giving me victory over Satan. I know Satan is real; but I also know that he has no authority over me because of the Cross of Jesus Christ. Thank You that the blood of Jesus protects me from the plans of Satan, in Jesus’ name!
