Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Let my prayer be set before You as incense, the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. – Ps 141:2

Your prayer is an offering. When you pray, it is “set before God as incense.” The same way Old Testament priests would burn incense as an offering to God (see Lev 16:12), you get to lift up your voice as an offering to Him!

Your worship is an offering too! There will be plenty of days you just don’t feel like worshipping! But the sacrifice we offer God is to worship anyway.

Prayer and worship are foundational disciplines; but they are also indispensable offerings. When you offer your prayer and worship to God, He will make it worth your while!

Prayer:

Father, I want to pray more. I want to worship more! I don’t just want to pray and worship when I feel like it; I want to pray and worship all day, every day. Stir me up to worship You like never before, in Jesus’ name!
