Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”  – Matt 24:1-2

God is not impressed by things that shall be “thrown down.” The disciples came to Jesus, expecting Him to be wowed by the beauty of something man-made; but instead, He reminded them that everything manmade would fade away.

What are you building? Are you building a monument to yourself – prestige, promotion, and wealth – that will be thrown down? Or are you building a monument to God that can never be taken away?

Live for eternity today. There are things God wants to do through you that will be celebrated forever in Heaven.

Prayer:

Father, give me the right priorities! I want to build a monument to You – through my thoughts, intentions, and actions – that no man can ever cast down! I want to live my life for You, in Jesus’ name.
