CityLight Pastor Commentary:

”The veil shall be a divider for you between the holy place and the Most Holy” (Ex 26:33). In today’s reading, God instructs Moses to have the craftsmen of Israel weave a veil. In the temple, the veil separated the Presence of God from His people, who were deemed too sinful to experience Him directly. When Jesus died on the Cross, that very same veil was torn ‘from top to bottom’ (Matt 27:51). Jesus took on the punishment we deserve and died in our place so we could experience God’s Presence: a right only Jesus Christ Himself is holy and sinless enough to deserve. Under the New Covenant, we’re not only allowed access to God’s Presence; we’re encouraged to seek His face. In fact, the Holy Spirit lives in us as a guarantee that we have been redeemed: bought out of sinfulness and into righteousness. God has chosen to live in us, His children. It is not only our right, but also our responsibility, to seek His Presence every single day.

Prayer:

“Father, I want more of you!  I want to know You better, and I want to experience Your Presence every single day. Thank You for sending Your Son Jesus Christ to die in my place, so I could be reunited with You.”
