Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And you shall make from these a holy anointing oil, an ointment compounded according to the art of the perfumer. It shall be a holy anointing oil. With it you shall anoint the tabernacle of meeting and the ark of the Testimony… – Ex 30:25-26

The anointing oil is symbolic of God’s Holy Spirit. Whenever a king or priest was anointed in the Old Testament, oil was required. When you anoint something or someone with oil, what you are saying is: Holy Spirit, You are welcome here!

Have you ever anointed your home with oil? Have you ever anointed your own head with oil? Parents: have you ever anointed your children with oil? Anoint the people and the places that are important to you. As you do, you are making the declaration: the only Spirit allowed here is God’s Holy Spirit! You are closing the door to the enemy, and opening the gates of Heaven, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for practical actions that welcome more of Your presence into my life. If You want me to anoint anything in my life, let me know! I will do it; because I want more of You, at any cost, in Jesus’ name.
