Commentary from Pastor Mike White:
Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him. – Ex 34:29
Our countenance changes when we spend time with God. Moses spent time in God’s glory, and the skin of his face shone. When the Sanhedrin saw the, “…boldness of Peter and John, …they realized that they had been with Jesus” (Acts 4:13). When we spend time in God’s presence, it rubs off!
When we spend time in God’s word, praying for His will, we start to take on His attributes. We are transformed into His image (2 Cor 3:18). Do you want to be more like Jesus? Spend time soaking in God’s presence and allow osmosis to take place.
We are called to be a light in dark places. We are called to witness and share the Gospel with everyone we meet. That task becomes effortless when our face is shining everywhere we go!
Prayer:
Father, thank You that when I spend time with You, I am transformed! Thank You for inviting me into Your presence. Whenever I need peace, I will pursue You; and I know You will meet me in my hour of need.
