Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it…A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out. – Lev 6:12-13
It was the priest’s responsibility to keep the fire burning; but it was the people’s responsibility to bring offerings to be burned.
It is your church’s job to provide an atmosphere where you can show up and praise God with all your heart. But it is every man and woman’s individual responsibility to make the decision: will I praise God with everything I’ve got?
When whole communities of people gather together to worship God with reckless abandon, whole cities will be changed for the better. Whole cities will set fire to nations, and nations will kindle a revival all over the world! But the revival God is waiting to see rests, in part, on your personal decision to make a praise offering to God.
Don’t just be a pew warmer. Make the decision to show up at church and offer everything you have to God. Let it all hang out, and watch the way your life – and your community – is transformed!
Prayer:
Father, I’m taking a big and bold step today. I’m going to praise you with my whole heart. Every time I show up to church, I’m going to be ready to go! I want the fire for worship and revival I carry to be contagious!
