Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“…then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.” – Lev. 26:4
Rain doesn’t always come when you command it. But it does always come, “…in its season.” God will pour out provision over your life when He’s ready! And, “…the land shall yield its produce, and the trees…shall yield their fruit.” Just because you’re not in the rainy season doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pray for rain! But know this: the rain will come according to God’s timing, not yours.
God is a God of abundance. But you are not in control of the rain. He is! And that’s actually a good thing. If you’re a control freak like me, that can be a tough pill to swallow! But think about this: if God is in charge of the rain, all the pressure to make it rain is now off you. You don’t have to try and force it. You don’t have to make it happen on your own! God will make it rain when He is good and ready; and all you have to do is wait.
Prayer:
Father, give me supernatural patience! Help me to wait for the rain well. I trust you. The answer to my prayers is coming! And I thank You that it is coming when You want it to, not when I think it should, in Jesus’ name.
