Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

So they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door outside on the street, and they loosed it. But some of those who stood there said to them, “What are you doing, loosing the colt?” And they spoke to them just as Jesus had commanded. So they let them go. – Mk 11:4-6

The word of the Lord brings peace into any situation. The word of the Lord gets you out of sticky situations without a scratch!

Jesus told the disciples to go into a town where nobody knew them and take a colt “on which no one [had] sat” (v 2). When people saw them taking the colt, they assumed they were stealing! The disciples stepped out and did what Jesus asked them to do, but they were judged. People took them for thieves. When the stuff hit the fan, the disciples didn’t panic; they said exactly what Jesus told them to say, and they were released with no questions asked.

Stick to the script. If you get stuck in a sticky situation where people misjudge what you are doing, use the word of the Lord! Say what God has given you to say: nothing more, and nothing less.

But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. – Mk 13:11

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the word of the Lord! Your written word gets me through every dark trial, and Your spoken word gets me through every sticky situation. I love Your word!
