Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand. – Mk 13:23
Jesus warned His disciples of everything that would happen, in advance.
Before He was crucified, He warned them it would happen:
For He taught His disciples and said to them, “The Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And after He is killed, He will rise the third day.” – Mk 9:31
Before they were persecuted, He warned them it would happen:
But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. – Mk 13:11
And before He comes back, He is warning us what will happen! The way we avoid being deceived is by knowing His word. The way we walk out our destiny is by knowing His word! God will tell us what He is about to do in advance; but we have to make time to listen!
Prayer:
Lord, what do you want to do today? Where do You want me to go, and what do You want me to see? Tell me what’s coming in advance, so I can be prepared when I see it!
