Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land to which I bring you, then it will be, when you eat of the bread of the land, that you shall offer up a heave offering to the Lord.’” – Num 15:18-19
This is God’s promise to His people: when we go where He sends us, He will bless us in that place.
God first delivered this message to Abraham:
Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great…” – Gen 12:1-2
Then He told Isaac the same thing:
Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father. – Gen 26:3
Then He gave Jacob the same promise!
And behold, the Lord stood above [Jacob] and said: “I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants.” – Gen 28:13
Scripture says that when we belong to Jesus, we are “…Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (Gal 3:29). That means the same promise extends to us! When you go where God sends you, He will bless you in that place; and that means you have nothing to fear. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will provide for you, all of your days.
Father, thank You for Your abundant provision! Help me to trust You with all my heart. I know when I go where You have called me to go, I will be blessed beyond measure, in Jesus’ name!
