Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
So Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the door of the tabernacle of meeting, and they fell on their faces. And the glory of the Lord appeared to them. – Num. 20:6
Moses and Aaron had a big problem. Israel ran out of water in the middle of the wilderness (Num. 20:2). They had nothing to drink, and nowhere to turn! So what did Moses and Aaron do? They, “…went…to the door of the tabernacle of meeting, and fell on their faces.” And when they did, the, “…glory of the Lord appeared to them.”
When you don’t know what to do: fall on your face. When you don’t know how to respond to criticism: fall on your face! Whenever you are facing unprecedented circumstances, the best option is always to fall prostrate before God: to admit to Him that you have no idea what to do, but that you need His help. And as you do, He will appear. He will show you His glory. He will tell you what to do! And He will overwhelm you with His goodness and His peace.
You gain nothing from pretending to have a plan. Humble yourself before God, and He will give you everything you need. When you fall on your face, He will show you His glory!
Prayer:
Father, I trust You! I need You to tell me what to do every step of the way. I am coming to You and falling on my face. And as I do, I am asking one thing: show me Your glory, in Jesus’ name!
