Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved. – Ps 62:1-2
Can you truthfully say that God “only” is your rock and salvation? That He alone is your defense? That He – and no one else – is the One who anchors you, and keeps you from being moved?
When the storm comes: look to God, and no one else. Don’t run to your parents. Don’t retreat to your friends. Don’t resort to social media. Go to God! As much as you want salvation: He wants to save you even more! And God is the only One who can save.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for saving me! When the storm comes: I will come to You. Grow in me the desire to come to You first: before I go to anyone or anywhere else!
