Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
So Moses spoke to the people, saying, “Arm some of yourselves for war, and let them go against the Midianites to take vengeance for the Lord on Midian. A thousand from each tribe of all the tribes of Israel you shall send to the war.” – Num 31:3-4
God had a mission; but each tribe had to do its part. God had a victory in store for Israel! But everyone had to pull his weight. Every single tribe had to recruit men to go to war, and do God’s work. No one was exempt. Are you ready to do your part?
There is work God wants to do through you; but He requires your participation! There are battles God wants to win in this city; but every believer has to pull his weight! The Kingdom of God grows when we work together, and every part does its share. God’s will is that we would, “…grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love” (Eph 4:16).
There are Kingdom victories that cannot happen unless you decide to participate. We participate – we fight – with our faith. Are you ready to go to war?
Prayer:
Father, I want to put my faith behind what You are doing in this city! I am making a decision to participate: to pull my own weight in the thoughts and plans You have for this place, in Jesus’ name!
