Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And the Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing, since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?” – Gen. 18:17-18
Abraham would become a leader. He would father the nations and the nations would be blessed in Him! And God wanted to establish a precedent early on that He would speak to Abraham, and hide nothing from him.
God wants to speak to our leaders. He wants to speak to you as a leader! But don’t wait until you run a company or a country to figure out how to hear from God. Don’t wait until a conflict comes to listen for His voice! Hear Him now; because it is in times of peace that you learn to hear Him on the battlefield. He will train you to hear the sound of His voice so that when you need Him most, you know exactly where He stands.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for speaking to leaders. I am so grateful that You are willing to speak to leaders in every level of management and government; but I recognize they also need to humble their hearts and listen. Soften their hearts. Make them turn to You to hear what You have to say, in Jesus’ name.
