Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Command the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as an inheritance–the land of Canaan to its boundaries.’” – Num 34:1-2
The Promised Land had boundaries. God promised to bless His people, as long as they didn’t wander outside the boundaries He had given them! We see the same principle at play in the Book of Deuteronomy:
…then I will give you the rain for your land in its season… – Deut 11:14
As long as you stay where the Lord has called you to go – in “your land” – you will be blessed! It is when we wander outside of His boundaries, often in the name of “free will,” that the blessings stop flowing.
Prayer:
Father, help me to stay in the land You have given me. Help me to respect the boundaries You have set for me. Thank You for showing me where You want me to be, in Jesus’ name!
