Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. – Lk. 6:12
When was the last time you “continued all night in prayer to God?” We know persistent prayer works!
I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs. – Lk. 11:8
And we all like to think we’re persistent. But are we? We all like to think we’re dedicated to the things of God. But are we really?
You should absolutely live in freedom from performance. You don’t need to impress God to learn His love! But you should also always live with a desire for more. There is always more time to dedicate to Him. There is always more of yourself to give to God! There is always more you can lay at the feet of Jesus.
Prayer:
Father, today I am re-dedicating myself to pursuing You with my whole heart. I have more to give You. I do! And I won’t hold it back any more. You can have all of me: my whole life, all that I have, and all that I am, in Jesus’ name.
