Commentary from Pastor Mike White:
For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more. – Lk 12:48
With great power comes great responsibility. Once we know Jesus, we must never again act as if we have never heard of Him. God calls His disciples to more. However, we shouldn’t receive that calling as a burden; we should accept it as a promise. The good, graceful news is that God is the One who will empower us to bear good fruit.
God has given us all His love, and He wants all our love in return. As we love Him, He will bring forth the change He requires in us.
Prayer:
Father, I will look to You for strength. I know that much is required of me, and I know that You are the God who gives the increase! Help me to grow, in Jesus’ name.
