Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Moses and Aaron were among His priests, and Samuel was among those who called upon His name; they called upon the Lord, and He answered them. – Ps 99:6
Moses, Aaron, and Samuel all had one thing in common: they called upon the Lord, and He answered them. The Lord, “…spoke to Moses and Aaron” (Ex 6:13). Moses met with God “…face to face, as a man speaks to his friend” (Ex 33:11). The Lord called to Samuel, and he responded: “Speak, for Your servant hears” (1 Sam 3:10). They had intimate relationships with God. They could trust that when they called out to Him, He would listen and respond!
And so can you. You are a child of God, and He wants to hear your voice. When you speak, He listens! In fact, Scripture says God “inclines His ear” to you (Ps 116:2). When you call out to God, He will hear; and whom He hears, He answers.
“It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.” – Is 65:24
Prayer:
Father, thank You for open doors of communication with You! Thank You that when I pray, You hear me. Help me to live with confidence that You care about me more than I even care for myself!
