Commentary from Pastor Mike White:

…for the Lord your God is He who has fought for you. – Josh 23:3

One of God’s names is Jehovah Lacham: the God who fights for us! In Exodus 14, Moses received this promise: “The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” God fights for us so that we can be at peace. He works so that we can be at rest!

God promised He would fight for Moses and Joshua; and He also promises He will fight for you. When we call on the name Jesus Christ, we become, “…more than conquerors” (Rom 8:37) in Him!

No matter how strong you think you are, you cannot gain the victory on your own. But fear not. Whatever you’re going through, God wants to fight the battle for you! Take His perfect peace, and let Him fight on your behalf! Alone, we are weak; but in Him, we are strong!

Prayer:

Father, I can’t fight anymore! I know that You are the God who fights for me, but you cannot move until I stop moving. You cannot fight until I rest. So, in Jesus’ mighty name, I choose to rest, knowing that You will win the victory for Your glory!
