Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine. – Prov. 3:9-10

There are many ways to honor God. You can honor Him with your time. You can honor Him with your prayers! You can honor Him with your worship. But You can – and should – also honor Him with your possessions.

Do you want to increase? Offer God your best. When you honor Him first, He will make sure you never run out of possessions to honor Him with. He will make sure your barns are “filled with plenty.” He will make sure your vats “overflow with new wine.” When you honor God with your possessions, He will honor you with abundance!

If God doesn’t have your wallet, He doesn’t have your heart. I pray the Lord blesses you with supernatural abundance this year. He will do it to confirm His covenant with you! But if you want Him to bless you with more, honor Him with what you have first.

Prayer:

Father, help me to remember to honor You first. I don’t want to give You my leftovers! I don’t want to give You anything less than my best. I love You, and I give my life to You, in Jesus’ name!
