Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“The Lord repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge.” – Ruth 2:12

Ruth honored her mother-in-law at every turn. Ruth was so faithful to Naomi that Scripture says she was, “…better to [her] than seven sons” (Ruth 4:15). Ruth honored Naomi when she didn’t have to. She served Naomi when there was nothing she could gain in return! And the result? The Lord took notice.

When you do the right thing for the right reason, God will repay you. God sees what you are doing – good or bad – when no one else is watching. Why get your reward from someone else, when you can get it directly from God?

Keep doing the right thing: even if it seems like no one cares, or it doesn’t make a difference. It makes a difference to God; and He will repay your work!

… and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly. – Matt 6:4

Prayer:

Father, I will serve You with a pure heart. I don’t care who sees it! Everything I do, I do unto You: in Jesus’ name!
