Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
While He spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped Him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she will live.” – Matt. 9:18

His daughter had just died. But He still wanted Jesus to come. Why? Because one touch from Jesus changes everything. The presence of Jesus brings dead things back to life!

Get familiar with the phrase, “But come.” Incorporate it into your prayer life. Lord, I just lost my job, but come and turn it around so I am happier than ever before and fully employed. Lord, I just ended a relationship, but come and introduce me to someone who loves You just as much as I do! Lord, my finances are a mess, but come and do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that I can ask, think or imagine!

It might look dead. But Jesus will come. And when He arrives, everything will come back to life.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the “but come” moments in my life. I am going to use this in prayer! I have confidence that if You “but come,” nothing will ever be the same again!
