Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

For we have found this man a plague, a creator of dissension among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes. – Acts 24:5

The religious leaders were not happy with Paul! They accused him of things he did not do, and complained about him to the Roman leaders because he preached the Gospel everywhere he went. But God would defend Paul in the end.

The religious leaders were afraid of change. When you live the Gospel, you will disrupt the status quo. Your life will change. Your household will change. Your career and the calling on your life will also change. Those who love Jesus will be happy; but those who do not know Him will be up in arms.

Do not be alarmed if some of the people around you – those who want things to remain the same – become upset. That is a sign you are on the right track. Push forward and keep contending for the things of God all the more!

Prayer:

Father, I know not everyone will understand my faith in Jesus. But I know You will defend me when I can’t defend myself. Thank You for Your faithfulness!
