Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested. – 1 Chron 4:10
Jabez had a destiny. His mother named him “He will cause pain.” He was expected to cause pain everywhere he went. He was expected to amount to nothing. But one prayer changed all that!
Jabez prayed that God would cancel the negative words spoken over his life. He prayed that God would be with him and enlarge his territory. He prayed that God would protect him from evil and keep him close to His heart. And God did.
Don’t bow to the negative words spoken over your life. God has more for you. Live up to His promises instead! Ask Him to keep you from failure, and bring you into success. When you pray for His will, He hears you!
Prayer:
Father, in Jesus’ name I cancel every negative word that has ever been spoken over my life. Thank You that You are the God of the turnaround, and not the dead end. Thank You that You are the living God, and you bring abundant LIFE!
