Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Then all Israel came together to David at Hebron, saying, “Indeed we are your bone and your flesh. Also, in time past, even when Saul was king, you were the one who led Israel out and brought them in; and the Lord your God said to you, ‘You shall shepherd My people Israel, and be ruler over My people Israel.’ ” – 1 Chron. 11:1-2

What you do does not go unnoticed. David spent years serving Saul. Then he spent years running from the very man he served, as Saul tried to take his life! There must have been many days when David wondered if it was worth it! There must have been plenty of times when he wondered if God would ever make him king.

But God was always watching. And God’s people were watching too. So after Saul died, they came straight to David and made him king. Everything God had promised would come to pass. This was God’s message to David: you were the one. And that is His message to you this morning too.

No matter how overlooked or forgotten you feel: you are the one. God sees you! He knows you. He has you right where you are on purpose, as preparation for the things to come. He will never leave you nor forsake you. And everything He has promised will come to pass.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for seeing me. Thank You for knowing me! Thank You that nothing I have done in Your name has been overlooked. You are amazing, and I love You, in Jesus’ name!
