CityLight Pastor Commentary:
“Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? “(Rom 2:4) God’s goodness leads men to repentance; not His wrath. This is essential for us to remember as we preach the gospel all over the world. It is not indignation and anger that will draw men and women to God, but rather His love. When you talk to other people about God, do you share His love? Do you tell of His goodness at every possible opportunity? You might be the only Jesus that person sees – today, or even ever! Are you representing Him well?
Prayer:
Father, help me to represent You well! I want Your goodness to ooze out of my pores and overwhelm me, so that I can share You with others! In Jesus’ mighty name!
