Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Joash was seven years old when he became king, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Zibiah of Beersheba. Joash did what was right in the sight of the Lord all the days of Jehoiada the priest. – 2 Chron 24:1-2

Joash was only seven! But he “did what was right in the sight of the Lord.” Joash didn’t need a lifetime of lessons learned the hard way to properly value his relationship with God! All he needed was a teacher to show him the ropes.

You have the best Teacher – God’s Holy Spirit – to show you the ropes. He lives inside of you, and He will teach you “all things” (Jn 14:26)!  You don’t have to be experienced to follow God. You are never too young or ignorant to start a relationship with Jesus! You simply have to have faith that He is Lord, and follow Him with all your heart.

Prayer:

Father, I am young and inexperienced; but I want to follow You with my whole heart! I pray Your Holy Spirit would teach me how to love You like never before, in Jesus’ name!
