Commentary by Pastor Michael White:

“This same Hezekiah also stopped the water outlet of Upper Gihon, and brought the water by tunnel to the west side of the City of David. Hezekiah prospered in all his works” (2 Chron 32:30). The Lord blessed Hezekiah in every way possible. He gave him military victory and expanded his property and possessions. God also gave Hezekiah creativity that had never before been seen. This verse tells us that Hezekiah built an aqueduct to bring water to Jerusalem. The Romans were considered ingenious for their aqueducts: a way to keep water clean and safe from enemies, and ensure reliable supply to their cities. However, the first Roman aqueduct was not commissioned until 312 BC. Yet here we see Hezekiah building aqueducts 400 years before Rome (Hezekiah lived from 739-687BC)! God will give you creative ability. He will give you thoughts, plans and dreams to improve the world around you so that everyone in your city can enjoy rivers of living water!

Prayer:

Father, make us smart! Make us creative. As Your children, we should be the most creative people in our workplaces – the experts in out field!
