Commentary by Pastor Michael White:

“He who formerly persecuted us now preaches the faith which he once tried to destroy” (Gal 1:23). Paul’s life story is a testament to God’s redemptive power. Paul once called himself the chief persecutor of Christians. He was not only the biggest skeptic when it came to the Christian faith, but also a violent man who killed members of the early church. Yet God redeemed him completely. Paul was chosen, out of every other man living at the time, to be the preacher who would proclaim the gospel to the Gentiles. No matter who you are, or what you’ve done, God wants to use you! Put your past where it belongs – behind you – and accept God’s glorious future for your life!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for promoting me, even when I don’t deserve it. You have chosen me to do great things: not in spite of my background, but because of it. Your grace is sufficient for me!
