Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And the Lord said to Moses, “When you go back to Egypt, see that you do all those wonders before Pharaoh which I have put in your hand. But I will harden his heart, so that he will not let the people go.” – Ex. 4:21

God sent Moses back to Egypt. Moses’ job was not to convince Pharaoh of anything. His job was simply to show Pharaoh the power of God – “all those wonders before Pharaoh” – so the miracle-working glory of God would be put on full display. God told Moses in advance that Pharaoh wouldn’t listen! But it was still Moses’ job to show him God’s miracle-working power.

In the same way, Jesus has sent you as a light into dark places. And your job is not to convince anyone to receive Jesus. Your job is simply to show them the power of God – the miracle-working glory of Jesus Christ! – so they see Him for who He really is. Some will accept Him! And some will reject Him. But your job is to step out in radical faith and declare that He is the God of miracles.

Show them the power of God! And don’t forget to pray. All the miracles in the world cannot convince anyone to receive Jesus unless God also softens his heart! You do your part, and God will do His.

Prayer:

Father, please show miracles through me. I know no one comes to Jesus unless the Father draws him (jn. 6:44)! I am contending for salvation for friends, family members, and other acquaintances; and I pray You would make Yourself real to them through me, in Jesus’ name.
