Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest,’ ” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. – Heb. 4:3

God’s “rest” represents the fulfillment of His promise. Here on Earth, God’s “rest” means living out the life God created you to have and fulfilling the destiny He put in you to accomplish. Did you know that as badly as you want to fulfill your destiny, God wants to fulfill it even more? He gives you “the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4) so you can walk them out!

In the context of eternity, God’s “rest” means entering into Heaven after you die. There is life after death! And without Jesus, we cannot enter His rest. But with Jesus, God’s promise for “we who have believed” is that we will enter into His rest.

You don’t need to be perfect to receive the goodness of God! You just have to have faith in Jesus Christ.

Prayer:

Father, I believe in Jesus! Thank You that on this side of the Cross, obedience means saving faith in Jesus Christ. I believe! And that means I will enter Your rest, in Jesus’ name.
