Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins. – Heb 10:3-4

The sacrificial system under the Old Covenant was imperfect. The priests of the nation of Israel would have to offer sacrifices “continually year by year” (v 1) to please God. But their sacrifices could never make God’s people perfect. In fact, the continual sacrifices were just a “reminder of sins” (v 3) whenever they were offered! They identified the problem, but didn’t provide a lasting solution!

But the New Covenant sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross is perfect! He died “once for all” (v 10). And that means no further sacrifice is required. You have been “perfected forever.” You may not feel perfect, and you may make mistakes; but know one thing for certain: the blood of Jesus is enough!

Prayer:

Father, thank You that Jesus is enough. I may not be perfect; but I believe that He made a perfect offering for me 2,000 years ago on the Cross! Whenever I mess up: I put my faith in Him, and I believe that His blood is enough.
