Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Now why do you cry aloud? Is there no king in your midst? Has your counselor perished? For pangs have seized you like a woman in labor. – Micah 4:9

God’s people were crying out in the midst of their distress. Micah had to remind them of something important: God was in their midst. He was their King, their Counselor and their Guide. God’s people were crying out like God wasn’t real! They were anxious and afraid, as if they had forgotten that He was on their side!

You don’t need to panic when the King is on your side. You have nothing to be afraid of when God is in the midst! Let go of all your fear and anxiety. Embrace the reality that God’s grace is bigger than your problems. He is with you: and that means you have nothing to fear.

Prayer:

Father, help me to remember that You are always in the midst. You never leave me or forsake me. You are always good, all the time! Help me to never forget it, in Jesus’ name.
